Western New York's Leading Adaptive Ski and Snowboard Program Become a StudentBecome a VolunteerOur Story
Trusted Since 1980
In 1980 a group of individuals, dedicated to making skiing accessible to everyone, began helping those with all abilities conquer the mountain.
Focusing on capabilities, and not disabilities, the program gained new volunteers and participants every year. Shared Ski Adventures grew to become an important part of the ski season at Swain Resort, opening the door for people with all abilities to enjoy the mountain.
In 2003, Shared Ski Adventures became a recreational program of CP Rochester, a 60-year-old agency whose mission is to support adults and children with physical and developmental disabilities so they may determine their own pathways in life and to live as full members of their communities. In 2015 we became a program of SportsNet.
Since our inception all those years ago, over 1000 students have benefited from the dedication of our volunteer instructors and the generosity of our donors. Thanks to them, we are able to carry on the mission and vision SSA was built upon; to be a a safe, fun, and adaptive ski program for people of ALL abilities.
